It is a collaborative effort to keep the plants watered, between the store and the Simply Set Team.
  • How often do Simply Set Merchandisers water the plants?
Simply Set Merchandisers monitor the local weather forecast to help determine how much water will be needed. Factors like temperature, humidity levels and air circulation impact how quickly plants dry out. Different plants also have different watering requirements. Annuals tend to need more water than perennials. The smaller plants also dry out more quickly than a larger container that can retain more water.

Both! While merchandising, we are actively engaging the customer to assist them in their plant buying experience.
  • How frequently should plant displays be changed or updated?
Simply Set Merchandisers follow merchandising guidelines to update plant displays according to various factors such as change of seasons, inventory turnover, and increased customer traffic. Generally, updating displays weekly or bi-weekly keeps them fresh and appealing.

  • What is the difference between annuals and perennials?
Annual plants die in the winter season so you must replant them every year, while perennials come back every year so you only plant them once.
  • How should I plan my garden for every season?
Planning your flower garden throughout the year involves considering seasonal variations and the bloom times of different plants. Here's a rough guide: Spring: Early Spring: Start by planting bulbs like tulips, daffodils, and crocuses, which bloom early in the season. Perennials such as bellis, primula and saxifraga are good for early spring. Mid-Spring: Transition to cool-season annuals like pansies and snapdragons, along with perennials such as bleeding hearts and peonies. Summer: Early Summer: Plant warm-season annuals like petunias, marigolds, and zinnias. Begin adding mid-season perennials such as daylilies and coneflowers. Mid-Summer: Continue planting heat-loving flowers like dahlias and gerbera daisies. Consider adding more perennial varieties. Late Summer: Introduce late-blooming perennials such as asters and sedums for a continuous display of color. Fall: Early Fall: Plant fall-blooming flowers like chrysanthemums and ornamental kale. Consider adding bulbs for the following spring. Late Fall: Wrap up by planting bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths for next year's early blooms. Remember to consider your local climate and frost dates when planning and planting your garden. This approach ensures a diverse and continuous display of flowers throughout the year, providing beauty and attracting pollinators across seasons.
